Learning should be open to everyone
Accessibility at Univada
We design and build Univada so that disability is never the reason someone can't learn here. Our target is conformance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA across every learner-facing surface.
At a glance —WCAG 2.1 AA is our baseline. Captions on every video, transcripts on every PDF lecture, keyboard navigation everywhere, and a dedicated email for accessibility blockers.
- WCAG 2.1 AA target
Audited internally each quarter.
- Captions on every video
Human-reviewed, not auto-generated only.
- 5-day fix SLA
On critical accessibility blockers reported to us.
- Keyboard-first
All learner flows operable without a mouse.
What we support today
- Full keyboard navigation across the web app, including the course player.
- Screen reader support for VoiceOver, NVDA, and JAWS with semantic landmarks and ARIA labels on every interactive element.
- Closed captions on every video lecture; many courses also include downloadable transcripts.
- PDF lectures rendered in a viewer that supports zoom, text reflow, and screen reader access.
- Color contrast that meets or exceeds WCAG AA, and a respect for the operating-system "reduce motion" preference.
- Scalable typography that responds correctly to browser zoom up to 200% without horizontal scroll.
What we're improving next
Our accessibility roadmap is reviewed every quarter and currently focuses on three areas: expanded language coverage for auto-generated captions, full Dyslexic-friendly typography toggle in the player, and a refreshed checkout flow with improved focus visibility. We publish an annual accessibility statement summarizing audit findings and remediation.
Standards we follow
Univada targets WCAG 2.1 Level AA and aligns with the EN 301 549 standard used by EU public bodies. We commission third-party audits annually and remediate findings on a published schedule. Where a known gap cannot be fixed immediately, we document an equivalent alternative.
Assistive technology and browsers
We test on the latest two versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge on desktop, plus Safari on iOS and Chrome on Android. Screen reader testing covers VoiceOver on macOS and iOS, NVDA and JAWS on Windows, and TalkBack on Android.
Report a barrier
If something on Univada isn't accessible to you, we want to fix it. Email accessibility@univada.com with a description of what you were trying to do, the page URL, the assistive technology you were using, and the browser and operating system. We acknowledge every report within two business days and follow up with a remediation plan.
